Annie Nichols-Burge currently serves as Instructor of Fine Arts in Voice at South Plains College. During the Fall of 2018 and Spring of 2019, Mrs. Burge served as Visiting Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre at Texas Tech University. Previous work includes founder, executive director, music director and vocal coach of Moonlight Directions Young Artist program and Moonlight Children’s Theatre. Former and current voice students of Mrs. Burge attend New York University, Pace University, Pepperdine University, University of Memphis, Oklahoma City University, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Texas Tech University, and West Texas A&M University, and have performed with regional theaters across the country. Voice students have also placed and/or won DSM High School Musical Theatre Awards and KCACTF Musical Theatre Initiative.

 

Annie has served as Music Director for Moonlight Children's Theatre productions of Beauty and the Beast Jr, Into the Woods Jr, Shrek the Musical Jr, and James and the Giant Peach Jr, Texas Tech University’s production of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, and most recently Lubbock Community Theatre’s production of Matilda and Chicago.

As a performer, Annie was a runner-up for the 2022 BroadwayWorld Dallas Regional Awards Best Performer in a Musical for her portrayal of Mrs. Lovett in the Wallace Theater's production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Other favorite roles include Katherine Blake (Freaky Friday), Fiona (Shrek), Judy (9 to 5) Ursula (The Little Mermaid), and Kala (Tarzan).

Mrs. Burge holds a Bachelors and Masters of Music and in Vocal Performance from Texas Tech University.
