Travis Burge

Travis Burge is the founder and executive artistic director of Horizon School of the Arts. Burge is a veteran Musical Theatre actor, director, and educator with 12 years of experience. He studied Musical Theatre Performance at Wayland Baptist University and Texas Tech University. He studied  ballet for 6 years at Ballet Lubbock under the tutelage of Yvonne Racz-Key.  Previous work includes  founder, artistic director, stage director, and acting instructor of the young artist program, Moonlight Directions, and Moonlight Chidren's Theatre with Lubbock Moonlight Musicals.

Former students who have studied under the direction of Mr. Burge attend New York University, Pace University, Pepperdine University, Oklahoma City Universtiy, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Texas Tech University, and West Texas A&M University, and have performed with regional theatres across the nation.

Burge has performed with several regional theatre companies. Credits include: Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Enjolras in Les Miserables, Shrek in Shrek the Musical, Phantom in Phantom of the Opera, and Jamie in The Last Five Years. Directorial credits include: Beauty and the Beast Jr., Into the Woods Jr., Shrek Jr., How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and Assistant Director of TTU Opera Theatre's The Merry Widow.

Chase Gibson

Born and raised in Lubbock, Texas, Chase Gibson is an actor and artist with the start of his career spanning back ten years ago. Fresh out of high school, he was hired to direct two separate musicals, "Les Miserables" and "Into the Woods" with Frenship High School. Soon after, Chase auditioned for local professional shows and began attending classes for Commercial Music at South Plains College, graduating with his certificate in two years. Throughout his time in college to present day, he performs and helps with many live concerts, musicals and projects for Moonlight Musicals, Horizon School of the Arts, Lubbock Community Theatre and other separate solo entities.

 

Currently, Chase finds himself getting back into directing, starting with Horizon's "Guys and Dolls Jr." and now "Anything Goes: Youth Edition" as Assistant Director. Shortly after, Chase took on the role of Claude Frollo in the Wallace Theater's production of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" (nominated for Best Actor in a Musical by Broadway World 2022) and Dr. Rank in "A Doll's House". He is so thrilled to help build such an amazing theatre community and only has a burning passion to help those thrive around him.

Hope Sisemore is the Theatre Director and Fine Arts Department Head at Trinity Christian Middle and High School. In her 8 years of teaching she has formed the One Act competition team at Trinity and celebrated 3 visits to state as well as restarting the musical theatre program at her school. She has acted and served as stage manager for Lubbock Moonlight Musicals for 6 years.

Hope holds a BFA in Theatre Education from Hardin Simmons University where she practiced every aspect of theatre, specializing in acting and stage managing.
